David's Comment: Succott - The Feast of Tabernacles
Leviticus 23:33-36 Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, "Speak to the children of Israel, saying: "The fifteenth day of the seventh month shall be the Feast of Tabernacles for seven days to the Lord. On the first day there shall be a holy convocation. You shall do no customary work on it. For seven days you shall offer an offering made by fire to the Lord. On the eighth day you shall have a holy convocation, and you shall offer an offering made by fire to the Lord. It is a sacred assembly, and you shall do no customary work on it."
The final Moed - Appointed Time or Feast of the LORD, Succott or the Feast of Tabernacles begins this Friday at sunset. This festival lasts for 7 nights / days and is followed by a special Sabbath on the 8th night / day. (more about that next week). The Hebrew word Succah (Succott is plural) means a tent or a temporary, flimsy dwelling. The original purpose of Succott is to remind us of the time that YHVH dwelt among the Israelites during their time in the desert. The LORD gave Moses the exact design details for the Tabernacle and the Holy of Holies, and when it was ready He came down in the form of His Holy Spirit and 'Tabernacled' with His people. I am always impacted by the famous painting of the Pillar of Fire above the Tabernacle in the desert, and all of the tents of the 12 Tribes of Israel that were set up all around it. GOD was literally dwelling in the midst of His people and the manifestation of the Fire of His Presence was visible for all to see. Succott is meant to be a time of great rejoicing before the LORD, celebrating with family and friends, and of course, feasting on lots of food
Every one of the seven Moedim or Appointed Times of YHVH also has a prophetic purpose - to show us the future, and where we are in GOD's plan to re-establish His Kingdom on the Earth - in Jerusalem. We believe that Succott is a prophetic picture of the Millenium, the thousand year period when Yeshua will reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords, dwelling in a rebuilt Temple on the Temple Mount in the heart of Jerusalem, on the very spot where the Al Aksa mosque has occupied since 690 AD. From current events we are seeing taking place all around the world, the Russian war against Ukraine, the situation with Iran, the political turmoil in Israel, the USA and other places, the deteriorating state of morality as the Western world returns to its ancient paganism, and the extreme weather, are all indicators that the end of this increasingly evil age is coming to an end, and the ultimate fulfillment of Succott is very near. Maranatha Yeshua !
As I have shared above and many times in the past, the Moedim of YHVH portray His plan for world redemption, and the restoration of His Kingdom on the Earth. Now that we understand the relevance of these last Moedim, let us commemorate and rejoice over Succott with the Jewish people, and spend time dwelling in the presence of the LORD. Let us pray that multitudes of Jews and Christians will have a revelation of what these wonderful Appointed Times of the GOD of Israel really represent.
Also please continue to pray for peace and quiet in and around Jerusalem, around the West Bank, and at the Gaza and northern borders over Succott, as the spiritual and natural atmosphere is very tense at this time.
Pray that any planned terror attacks will be exposed and prevented and that no Israelis, or the thousands of Jewish and Christians who are in Israel to celebrate Succott will be harmed in any way.

The LORD bless you as you bless Israel by standing in defense of her right to exist on all of the land given to the Jewish people by the GOD of Israel. Please pray that all of the Jewish people will return to Israel and turn back to their GOD and Messiah. Do not be silent, but share this with your fellow Christians, share it with your pastors, and with anyone you have a chance to speak to. Lets also pray for a breakthrough to the Muslims, and please remember to pray Divine protection for all of the soldiers in the IDF. Please continue to pray for Jews and Christians to be given full access to the Temple Mount.
