David's Comment: Israel - Hamas War - No End in Sight.
The Israel - Hamas war in about to enter the 4th week. The death toll, the number of injured, and the destruction on both sides increases daily. The Israeli war cabinet and our military leaders continue to declare that the attack on Hamas will not stop until the barbaric Iranian backed terror organisation is destroyed. This does need to happen because according to the Hamas charter, the organisation exists for the purpose of destroying Israel. However I am not sure that is possible, because the younger generations of Gazans have been indoctrinated to hate Israel and the Jewish people from the time they can stand on their feet. If Israel is successful in destroying the current Hamas organisation, there are tens of thousands of the next generation in Gaza to ready to take their place. Israel has not said what they plan to do prevent that and how they will deal with the other large terror group in Gaza - Palestinian Islamic Jihad ? It was one of their rockets that hit the hospital last week.
As I wrote last week, the war with Hamas in Gaza could become a much broader conflict if Iran and Hezbollah become involved, likely dragging other nations into the war. What is happening here in the Middle East will also spread to towns and cities in the nations. Many Western leaders are supporting Israel, but media and public opinion is already beginning to turn against us as the collateral consequences of the war increase. Already anti-Jewish attacks in many countries have increased significantly. Pro Israel rallies have had to be cancelled because of the threat of violence by the anti Israel groups who outnumber the friends of Israel. Wherever there are Muslim communities there is a real threat of violence spreading to those locations in the near future, if it has not already begun. We must all remember that the ultimate goal of radical Islam is to conquer the world for Allah, and Israel is just the first step.
However the Hebrew Bible is full of the promises of GOD to protect Israel, and that He will go before the army of Israel into the battle, and we can be sure that He is always victorious. Deuteronomy 20:1 - 4 is just one example. In Psalm 106:6 GOD says that even when the Jewish people are in sin, He will save Israel for the sake of His name. I do not know how and when this tragic war will end, all I know is that Israel is facing the biggest threat to her existence in all of our history. We need the supernatural intervention of GOD to move His hand in such a powerful and visable way, that the enemies of Israel will drop their weapons and run for their lives. As well as that multitudes of Jews, and people of other faiths or no faith, will see the power of the God who they do not believe in, and if they are smart, they will repent and accept Yeshua as their Messiah, and enter into the eternal promises of the New Covenant with the GOD of Israel.
As I am writing this comment, there is no end in sight, and for the government and military of Israel, it looks like Mission Impossible, but nothing is impossible for the GOD of Israel. He knows the He is still on the Throne in full control of everything that happens in the Universe. Let us continue to stand together in faith and prayer, reminding the LORD of His covenant promises to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, to Moses, and the promises He made to Israel and the Jewish people through the prophets.
The LORD bless you as you bless Israel by standing in defense of her right to exist on all of the land given to the right Jewish people by the GOD of Israel. Please pray that all of the Jewish people will turn back to their GOD. Do not be silent, but share this with your fellow Christians, share it with your pastors, and with anyone you have a chance to speak to. Lets also pray for a breakthrough to the Muslims, and please remember to pray Divine protection for all of the soldiers in the IDF.
