What began as a ministry dedicated to serving God and others has grown into a thriving financial planning business that continues to operate on the same core principles: faith, family, and a genuine desire to help people. More than just a business, Star Strategies provides financial guidance with integrity to support families and individuals on their paths to financial security, all while staying true to the values that started it all.

Star Strategies President, Jay Dodaro, was born and raised in Cleveland. He moved to Texas in 1976 with his mom, found a job in the restaurant business, and was managing a fast-food facility at age 17.

Wanting to take a different path, Jay decided to join the Navy and served as an electronic technician – cryptologic specialist. “I served for nearly 10 years,” said Jay. “My first day was April 1, 1978, and my last was November 11, 1987. I like to say, I went in as a fool and came out as a Veteran.”

The Governor's Cup is a national economic development ranking awarded by Site Selection magazine and supported by JobsOhio. This annual recognition is an opportunity to highlight the job creation, capital investment and business development in Wayne County.
