Join Us In Our Remembrance of Mons. Oscar Romero
Saturday, March 21 10:00 a.m. Cathedral of the Incarnation
The Latino Ministry of The Episcopal Diocese of Maryland is hosting a Holy Eucharist in remembrance of Mons. Oscar Romero. The Roman Catholic Archbishop of San Salvador, Romero became a powerful prophetic voice for justice during El Salvador's violent civil conflict. Initially cautious and institutionally conservative, he was transformed by the 1977 murder of his friend, Jesuit priest Rutilio Grande, and began publicly denouncing government repression, poverty, and human-rights abuses. Romero was assasinated on March 24, 1980, while celebrating the Eucharist. The Episcopal Church commemorates him as a modern Christian martyr and witness to the gospel's call to justice, honoring his courage in defending the poor, his pastoral compassion and his commitment to nonviolence and human dignity across denominational boundaries.

How the Teachings of Richard Rohr and Brené Brown Support Our Faith Journey
Saturday, April 18 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Parish Hall
Join the Rev. Arianne Rice for a reflective and spacious day retreat exploring how the teachings of Richard Rohr and Brené Brown can deepen and enrich our faith.
Both Rohr and Brown invite us into a more wholehearted spirituality that honors growth, embraces vulnerability, and trusts that our lives are unfolding even when it feels as though they are unraveling. Rohr’s contemplative theology helps us see how the power of divine love invites us again and again to move toward spiritual maturity through the transitions, disappointments and difficulties of our experience. Brown’s research on courage, shame and belonging gives us practical ways to learn from our lives and examine the stories that shape how we see and interpret our experience.
Together, their work reminds us that vulnerability is not weakness, but where we find our wisdom within our faith journey. The imperfections, doubts, and struggles are not obstacles to spiritual life; they are the very places where God meets us.
This class will include teaching, guided personal reflection, and small group conversation. You’ll leave with language, practices, and insights you can continue to draw on in your own spiritual journey.
Whether you are navigating change, growing into the next season of your life, or longing to integrate your inner life with your outer commitments, this time together offers a grounded and hopeful path toward spiritual growth and formation.

Activity Leads: have something you really enjoy doing? Maybe you love board games, sewing, acting, sports, cooking, etc.? We are looking for someone to take charge of creating fun activities for our campers.

Gilead House II
There is a house on St. Thomas Lane that has been a feature of the St. Thomas Campus since 1860. Recently, it has been called the Sexton’s House (Brian) and the Assistant’s House (the Erdman Family). You may recall the 2020 news reports of the overthrow of the government in Afghanistan. This action created over 1 million refugees. A number of these refugees had provided direct help to our troops that had been in Afghanistan for 20 years.
Since September of 2022 the St. Thomas’ Outreach Committee has been providing support to some of these refugees in their transition to life in America. We are working with ERICA (Episcopal Refugee and Immigrant Center Alliance), an organization within our Diocese, and several area congregations. The people we helped in 2022, were living at the unused rectory of St. Marks on the Hill, just inside the beltway. They call it the Gilead House.
In December of 2024, the Vestry approved using the house on St. Thomas Lane as an interim residence for refugees. As it has not been occupied for the previous 6 years, it needed some renovations. The Vestry committed some funds and several parishioners made contributions. Work started in early 2025 and was completed in late June 2025. The renovations included addressing a run off issue with the landscaping, renovation of the kitchen, repainting both inside and out. We call it Gilead House II.
The first guests in this house have made it into a home and have begun a new life with us.

| Help Provide Food and Life Essentials to Owings Mills Households in Need! |
|
|
|
|
The Community Crisis Center has been addressing hunger and hardship in the Owings Mills area by providing our neighbors in need with supplemental food and essentials for over 40 years, rebuilding hope and self-reliance. They recently lost a major donor and face rising food costs and funding cuts—all while serving more and more families every month (they served 175 monthly in 2019 and now serve over 1,000 monthly).
How You Can Help the Most Right Now:
- Purchasing specific priority items listed to the below and dropping them off at the Parish Office. Note: CCC Priorities have changed to now include bar soap and shampoo. Our goal is 75+ for each item, each month.
- Giving financially to support food purchases (see why below). To Donate, click here and select “Outreach - Community Crisis Center” in the menu.
Questions? Please contact Margaret Green.
|
|
|
|
| Your Financial Gift Doubles the Amount of Food You Can Give |
|
|
When the Community Crisis Center spends a dollar through the Maryland Food Bank, it can buy roughly twice as much food as that same dollar can buy at a local grocery store. St. Thomas’ asks you to consider donating financially so we can multiply our impact and feed more Owings Mills households in need. To Donate: Click here and select “Outreach - Community Crisis Center.”
