David's Comment: Never Again is Now !
Last Sunday evening Israel entered into the annual Holocaust Memorial Day, with a number of events on Sunday evening and Monday in memory of the 6 million plus Jews who perished and to honour the decreasing number of elderly survivors. The 2 minute siren was sounded at 10.am, bringing the country to a standstill. Most of the nation stood in silence, the wailing sound of the siren stirring up heart wrenching memories and images of the horrors that happened to the Jews in Europe during the Holocaust. Each year on this day, the slogan that most of us have heard many times, Never Again !, also comes to the minds of most Jewish people, and to the minds of our non-Jewish friends in the nations.
Since the beginning of the war with Hamas last October there have 2 popular slogans here in Israel. The first,Together to Victory, was to inspire unity amongst the various factions which had come to a terrible place of disunity before the massacre of October 7th. The second, Israel Alone, began to be seen as more and more nations moved away from the initial support of the war in the first few weeks.
Now we are beginning to see or hear a third slogan, Never Again is Now ! These words are being declared in regards to the dramatic rise of anti-Semitism that has been growing in a number of locations around the world, initially on the city streets where pro Palestine protests are taking place. The protests then began in universities, and now it is beginning to happen in colleges, and only GOD knows where this will end, but it is not difficult to take an educated guess. This slogan is taken from the title of a documentary made in 2019 by a Dutch Jewish woman, troubled by the global rise of anti-Semitism. How much more troubled must she be by the current situation?
Of course anti-Semitism is not a new thing, it is the oldest hatred in the World. Even before the problems in Gaza, Judea and Samaria intensified over the last 10 or more years, Israeli children often asked their parents why Israel and the Jewish people are so hated. Obviously they had heard or seen things on the news that gave them that impression. If children were able to pick that up 10 years ago, can you imagine what they are thinking now with what is taking place at the protests. And it is not just young children, but I am sure that most Jews of all ages in every country are horrified and deeply concerned, as are the non-Jewish friends of Israel and the Jewish people, at the vicious hatred being directed at Israel and the Jews, not just by radical Muslims, but by people from all backgrounds, who have been deceived to believe that the Jews and Israel are the bad guys.
As I have shared before, anti-Semitism is not the correct name to use to describe the age old hatred of the Jewish people, because Arabs are Semites as well. What I believe is a more accurate description is anti-Messiah-ism or anti-GOD-ism, and that is confirmed in Psalm 2:1-2 Why do the nations rage and the peoples plot a vain thing? The answer at the end of verse 2 is that it is against the LORD and His Anointed One (Messiah). Any attempt to harm Israel and the Jewish people is a Satanic attempt to prevent the return of Messiah Yeshua to re-establish the Kingdom of GOD in Jerusalem. If there is no Israel or Jerusalem, and no Jews living there to welcome Yeshua back, then He will not come back. That is what is being proclaimed by the slogan From the River to the Sea - no Israel!
If every Bible School, pastor and Christian leader understood the previous paragraph, and the Biblical truth about Israel, they would be teaching their people the same, and the Body of Yeshua worldwide would be standing with Israel, and making Israel and the Jewish people their priority for prayer - for protection over Israel and for the salvation of the Jewish people.
It is also important to pray for the Jews who are still living outside of Israel to return to the Land of Promise as GOD made a covenant with Abraham that his people would live in the land that He was promising to give them. Sadly, because of our disobedience, we were cast our of the Land twice, and most Jews are still out there, thinking the country where they were born or are living is the land of promise, but now that is changing fast. As the hatred and the potential for violence increases, more and more Jews are making preparations to come to Israel, the only Promised Land for them. However there are still many millions more who are not yet awake enough to realise that Never Again is actually happening again - now! If the current trend continues, the hatred of Israel and the Jews will increase until it will be too dangerous for them to live anywhere except in Israel.
How to Pray: It is only when their lives are clearly in danger will most of the Jews come home - to meet Yeshua and to welcome Him back. So please be careful how you pray. Please do not pray that the current rise of hatred will go away, because then they will not leave. Do pray that they will wake up and escape before they or their families are harmed.
The LORD bless you as you bless Israel by standing in defense of her right to occupy and defend all of the land covenanted to the Jewish people by the GOD of Israel. Please pray that all of the Jewish people will turn back to their GOD and Messiah. Do not be silent, but share this with your fellow Christians, share it with your pastors, and with anyone you have a chance to speak to. Lets also pray for a revelation of the real Messiah for the Muslims, and please remember to pray Angelic protection over all of the Israeli soldiers and pilots.
