A warm welcome to our 22/23 academic year and our community newsletter.

ATTFE College has got off to a very busy and vibrant start which follows a fabulous working summer.

You might have seen our Partnership Community Lead team [PCLs] this summer as they have been out and about at lots of events, as well hosting events in our Idlewells Community Hub. There’s lots of exciting things going on at the Community Hub and you can find out more about what we are doing in the newsletter and on our social media. There are free events for adults and children, so follow us, or drop in for more information.

Over the summer, we spoke to over 2000 local residents to see what kind of courses and events you want us to put on. And we have some courses up and running, with more to follow soon. We are a community college that cares about issues that affect local people. We know that people may be worried about the rising cost of living and we can help you access advice and support if you are worried about food, heating and even connecting to the internet. If you need someone to talk to about these issues, you can either drop into the Community Hub in Idlewells, or email us on PCL@attfe.org.uk.

Heather is ATTFE's careers guidance expert. All students at ATTFE can access support to help them find out what their next step is.

Heather says: "If you are thinking about moving into your first job, or you are looking for a new job or you are returning to work after a break, and you would like to know what different job roles involve, what they pay and what qualifications you need, a good place to carry out research is the National Careers Service website. It has lots of information on what jobs involve and what qualifications you need for them.

Funding for Adult Learning Courses

Some FREE courses at ATTFE College include; reading, writing and basic maths. 

You may not have to pay for tuition if you are under 24 and studying for your first qualification equivalent to GCSE or A level.

If you are planning to study at Level 3 to 6, you can apply for apply for an Advanced Learner Loan to cover the cost of your tuition fees. The loan is easy to apply for, doesn’t involve a credit check and you don’t have to pay it back until you’ve finished your course and you are earning over £26,575 a year.
