On Thursday, September 21st, our Frosh Student Associates had the fantastic opportunity to attend a community gathering accompanied by their work site, the San Francisco Historical Society. The "Landing at Leidesdorff" event, inaugurated by Mayor London N. Breed, introduced a brand new public gathering place in Downtown San Francisco. This space, created through a collaboration between local businesses, community, and civic leaders, transformed historic alleyways into a pedestrian-friendly area.
It is amazing to see our students learn more about the process it takes to transform underutilized spaces, gaining insights into urban planning and community development. After the event, our students had the opportunity to meet Mayor London N. Breed.
We are proud to note that the San Francisco Historical Society joined the CWS program just this year as one of our esteemed partners. We value the time they dedicate to providing our students with valuable mentorship and hands-on experience in museum operations while offering them a glimpse into the rich history of San Francisco.
