CELEBRATING 15 YEARS OF IMPACTING LIVES

Celebrating our 15-year journey floods our hearts with an overwhelming mix of emotions. From humble beginnings of working with 35 children under the Bindal Bridge, to currently impacting the lives of over 9000 children, the magnitude of our growth has been exponential.

Each step along this path has been filled with challenges.

Yet, as we pause to reflect, we are filled with a profound sense of gratitude. We owe an immeasurable debt of thanks to every supporter and well-wisher who has stood by us, their contributions, whether large or small, weaved together the fabric of our work.

The dream we hold, to level the playing field for every underserved child, is vast and daunting. Yet, from the moment we embarked on this journey, not a single day has passed without our unwavering commitment to reach those who dwell on the fringes of society.

TEACHER TRAINING

Social, Emotional and Ethical Learning Training conducted by

Max India Foundation

In January, Aasraa began with a 3-day training session for teachers and Program Leaders. They received a thorough introduction to the Social, Emotional, and Ethical (SEE) learning program, facilitated by the Max India Foundation (MIF).

We extend our gratitude to Ms. Garima Garg, Head, MIF, the exceptional trainers - Swati Khanna, Rakhi Sharma, Sharanya Joshi, Neha Bhatia, and the entire MIF team - for organizing such an impactful workshop.

This workshop marks a significant step forward for Aasraa's mission to empower underserved youth. It will guide our future efforts as we integrate the SEE program into our partner schools.

International Women's Day

Naari Shakti-Raashtra Shakti Award

His Excellency Governor of Uttarakhand, Lieutenant General Gurmeet Singh honored our chairperson, Ms. Shaila Brijnath with the 'Naari Shakti-Raashtra Shakti' award during the pre-evening celebration of International Women's Day organized at the Raj Bhavan.

In March 2024, 95 students from Class 10 and 45 students from Class 12 appeared for their board examinations.

The children have put in great efforts, and we are eagerly waiting for the results.

Hema, class 6th, Government Upper Primary School, Rest Camp

Chief Minister's Meritorious Student Incentive Scholarship

Hema will receive monthly scholarship straight into her bank account until she clears the eighth grade!

She is the Prefect in her school and is a role model for her classmates!

Khushbu, class 8th, Government Upper Primary School, Araghar

National Mean-cum-Merit Scholarship

Khushbu has been a diligent and a bright child and leads her school as the Prefect.

We are proud of Khushbu's super achievement, and we just know she's going to shine even brighter!

We congratulate both our partner schools on the children's achievements!

Taking learning beyond classroom!

42 girls and 32 boys from our Shelter Homes went on for an enriching educational tour to Delhi in March. It was a post-board exam getaway to have a fun learning experience and connect with our cultural heritage.

Trip to Himalayan Adventure Institute of Mountaineering, Mussoorie!!

A group of 115 students embarked on a two-day exposure trip to Mussoorie.

Strengthning Bonds - Donor Visits

On the completion of the Community Goal Challenge, which highlighted the necessity of walking for fitness, Skechers India donated 100 pairs of shoes for our children.

Stars Sanya Malhotra and Rohit Saraf delighted the students by personally handing over the shoes to them at a gala function.

Your support, Skechers India, is invaluable in promoting health and we look forward to actively participating in more such events in the future.
