Hi,
First off, we'd like to say "Thank you" for your support of the Girls Matter initiatives that we've had in place this past year - your donation has helped us to provide re-usable, washable menstrual supplies to 800 girls in Buyaya, Uganda and a similar number in Nairobi, Kenya.
Without these supplies, these girls miss a week of school every month - they have to stay home, with everyone in their community knowing why they are staying home - and how embarrassing is that for a teenage girl? Not only that, they can't leave their residence, it's like being in lock down for 1 week of every month for 40 years of womanhood. Imagine if that were you!
So thank you for helping us keep the girls in school and getting them out of lockdown, YOU are changing lives half way around the world.
Something else we've been able to do in 2023 is partner with Give Wise. Through this partnership we can now do several things:
1) Give you a tax receipt immediately upon you donating
2) Provide options for you to set up monthly donations on subscription - how easy is that?
Just $10 provides 1 girl with a year's worth of menstrual supplies. Think how easy it would be to click on our donate button , set up an account and then create a monthly donation.
Will you miss $10 / month? For less than the cost of a coffee and a muffin at Starbucks, you can change the life of a girl and keep her in school, out of lockdown, out of shame, supporting her education, confidence and helping give her a future she wouldn't otherwise have.
It is the season of Thanksgiving, please help us continue to support keeping our girls in school.
We are also looking for sponsors for several girls, one has been accepted into University to study Pharmacy, however has had to take a gap year for lack of funds. $1800 CAD ( about $1350 USD) per year covers her accommodation, meals, transportation, books and education. If you would like to sponsor a girl, please reply to this email and let us know, so we can get you set up to do so and ensure you get tax receipts as well.
Thank you for supporting our girls and please share this e-mail with others that you think might also like to support keeping our girls in school, stopping teenage marriages and breaking the poverty cycle, one girl, one family, one village at a time.
And if you haven't yet seen the Girls Rising documentary that was the impetus to me staring Girls Matter, watch the 2 minute trailer here, it is powerful enough to let you know what I had to take action.

PS, not sure if this will be monthly or quarterly yet, however we felt we were long over due for communicating with you, the impact of your donations.
