David's Comment: When Will the Plan of GOD for Gaza be Fulfilled ? Judges 1:18 Also Judah took Gaza with its territory, Ashkelon with its territory, and Ekron with its territory.
The Israel war with Hamas as a result of the barbaric attack of October 7th is about to enter the 6th week. As the war goes on and the death toll, the number of injured and the damage in Israel and in Gaza increases, international support decreases, while political, media and public one-sided condemnation of Israel increases. Now we are hearing more and more, the Israeli government being warned by the US and most other political leaders, not to re-occupy Gaza.
What most of the World, and even many Jews do not seem to know, is that Gaza is a part of the land that GOD promised to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in an eternal covenant. The above verse from Judges 1:18 is just one of several that mention Gaza. That verse tells us that Gaza is as much of a legitimate part of the Promised Land as Ashkelon is, and so far no-one is demanding that Jewish people leave Ashkelon. It was reported in the news last week that IDF soldiers inside Gaza prayed at a sixth century synagogue for the first time in many decades. If there is a synagogue in Gaza that dates back to the sixth century, that confirms that there were Jews living in Gaza before and after Israel was destroyed by the Romans in 70 AD.
The GOD of Israel is very serious about keeping His covenant promises. Therefore I believe that for the sake of His name, YHVH will ensure that one day Gaza, all of the West Bank (and very much more, (see Genesis 15:17- 18) will once again be a part of Israel. Any nation, organisation or individual who objects to that, and tries to stop it, is in direct opposition to the Creator of the Universe, who the Bible warns is a consuming fire to those who oppose Him when He chooses to be. Of course anyone who does not believe that the Bible is the Word of GOD, is probably ignorant of what GOD has said, but ignorance is not an excuse. The motto of the pro Hamas protesters is From the River to the Sea, declaring that there is no place for Israel to exist, but the opposite is true, all of the land promised to our forefathers, belongs to Israel and the Jewish people.
One possible positive scenario is that when Hamas and the other terror groups are destroyed, the people of Gaza will be happy to return to live under Israeli governance as 1.5 million Israeli Arabs do today, realising that they and their families will be much better off in that situation. With the help of Israel and rich Arab states, Gaza could become like Dubai. That is the only way I can see for a good outcome of this war for Israel and the Gazans. This scenario will take a miracle, but GOD could make it happen, so please remember this as a prayer point.
I will pose the point of my comment as a question - could GOD be using what has been, and is happening between Israel and Gaza, to return control of Gaza back to Israel at this time, or will that be fulfilled at some time in the future ? Whether it happens sooner or later, it will definately cause a massive problem internationally, and even amongst the Jewish people. It may even end the relationships between Israel and the USA, UK and most other nations. The return of Gaza could be very costly to Israel, but the GOD of Israel will have His way and keep His covenant promise to Abraham, which is a one sided covenant, as GOD put Abraham to sleep as He was making His promises of the land.
In the Six Day War and the Yom Kippur war Israel gained a lot of land, until the nations urged Israel to give much of it back. If this is time that GOD wants Gaza to be returned to Israeli control, and the nations oppose it, things could get very bad for those nations, and they need to be warned, And if GOD is using this war, one way or another, we must be careful how we pray into the situation as we should be pray along with what GOD is doing. If we are not sure then the safest way to pray is that the will of GOD be done on Earth as it is in Heaven. And we need to continue to pray that multitudes of Jews, Muslims, our families, friends, neighbours, and people everywhere will come into the Kingdom at this very strategic and challenging time.
The LORD bless you as you bless Israel by standing in defense of her right to exist on all of the land given to the Jewish people by the GOD of Israel. Please pray that all of the Jewish people will return to Israel and turn back to their GOD and Messiah. Do not be silent, but share this with your fellow Christians, share it with your pastors, and with anyone you have a chance to speak to. Lets also pray for a breakthrough to the Muslims, and please remember to pray Divine protection for all of the soldiers in the IDF.
Shabbat Shalom ... David & Josie
